Chattanooga creative discovery museum coupon11/30/2023 ![]() ![]() There are classes for homeschooled kids here in art and science, I was never able to make it up to the top of the tower but plenty of kids have. There are rooms such as the one with African masks we enjoyed and a music room where we got to play a West Indian steel drum. Downstairs they have a kiddie house with a kiddie kitchen for the little ones. One time they had a huge spider web maze to try to get through and there was a big tree to go inside. They may be based on art or science and will actively and physically engage you. My now teenaged daughter still talks about the Science of the Wizard of Oz exhibit where we got in a wind tunnel and were almost blown away! All exhibits are very hands-on and interactive. The area upstairs where they have the traveling exhibits is spacious. Over the years they have had some unusual exhibits that are just plain fun for all ages. We've only been able to park in the lot twice and had to park in a parking garage across the street and pay for parking plus cross the street at a very busy downtown light (try that with little ones!). We started visiting here when this museum opened and have been here many times. We enjoyed it and stayed much longer than expected. The price is affordable and they offer a 10% military discount off the total price. The museum also offered face painting, clay models, dinosaur bones to dig for in the sand, a library, an exhibit called bee alley, and just soooo much more. The children enjoyed sending messages through a tube from one side of the room to the other. My hubby, kids, and I learned tons of fun facts. They have a splash area for those who like getting wet, huge checkers game board on the roof, along with a playground on the rooftop. We also enjoyed the road car challenge that taught on biofuel while pretending to travel in a car across the state. We enjoyed the music area the most with all the different instruments to play on and the voice recording room in which I got a little carried away in. This museum is very educational and have many interactive activities including ones for those gamers in the family. First skeptical because i have a 12 year old son and 10 year old daughter who found Children's Museum in Atlanta to be too pre-k for them even at a younger age. ![]()
